Humberside Police officers were dispatched to an address in Elm Way in the early hours of Sunday morning after reports of a disturbance.

A 54-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder. He is still being held.

The death of the mother, who owned the Oliver’s beauty salon in the North Lincolnshire village, has devastated her family and rocked the local community.

One family member wrote online: ‘Rest in peace beautiful my heart is broken, can’t believe my beautiful cousin has gone, what a cruel world.’

Neighbours were also horrified to hear of Clair’s death, with one telling Grimsby Live: ‘Clair was friendly and always spoke to me when we were out walking the dogs.
