A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two ten-year-old boys were discovered stabbed in their home.
Police were called to the house in Friskney, Lincolnshire, yesterday after a report of a safety concern.
Specially trained officers and armed police were involved in a nine-hour standoff at the property.
They eventually gained entry at 1 a.m. today, and the two boys were discovered knifed inside.
They were taken to the hospital but are not thought to have suffered any life-threatening injuries.
The woman, 39, was arrested and is being held on suspicion of attempted murder.
A mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct has been made.
“We attended a property in Fold Hill, Friskney, following a call at 1.49pm on Tuesday, 29 November reporting a concern for safety,” Lincolnshire Police said.
“Our officers attended and spoke to the occupant.
“From around 4.30pm yesterday specially-trained officers negotiated with a woman inside the property, and this continued for several hours. Firearms officers were also present at the scene.
“The road was closed for several hours while our officers were at the scene but it has now reopened.
“There was no wider threat to residents during the incident.”
