Woman injured as group of men barge into home and steal cash & jewellery as gardai probe burglary

Pennsylvania couple arrested in newborn son's death

A woman, aged in her 40s, was injured when a group of men barged into her home.

The men demanded cash from the resident and then fled with stolen money and jewelry.

The incident happened around 6.30 pm yesterday evening at a property in Greystones, Co Wicklow.

The woman did not require medical attention, and her injuries are not life threatening.

As gardai investigate the burglary, no arrests have been made.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with information.

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardai in Wicklow are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary at a property in Greystones, Co. Wicklow yesterday evening, Friday December 23 2022.

“At approximately 6:30pm, a number of males entered the property and demanded cash.

“One woman (aged in her 40s) was injured during the incident.

“She did not require medical attention and her injuries are non-life threatening.

“The suspected offenders fled the scene with a sum of cash and jewellery.

“Gardai in Bray are appealing to any person who was in the area of Killincarrig area of Greystones between 6pm and 7pm last night, to contact them.

“They are particularly keen for any road users who may have camera footage from this area at the time to make it available to investigating Gardai.

“No arrests have been made at this stage, investigations are ongoing.”
